The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

The Quilt That Shrank and Became ...

Hi - I couldn't be happier that you are here.
Doesn't this say Spring? Not sure of the pattern or maker, I just know I love this little quilt.
If you know anything about this wonderful quilt, please let me know.

Fooled you for a second, didn't I?  Bet you thought that is how I shrunk my Hook!
I wish...

Thank you to Sinta at Pink Pincushion and Sherrie at A Quilting Life. for posting the parade and of course to Carrie Nelson who continues to be our inspiration with all of her creativity

The quilt that became a Table Runner is my this little Schnibble I named
Hook, Line and Sinker and is for my Dear Wonderful Husband (DWH)
who takes very good care of me in this,  our waiting room of life.

My Hook was downsized and became a table runner - why, you may ask?
surely I can make a small quilt in 30 days - not this time!
Some may have thought this pattern was easy - not so much for me and it started with step one!!!
I do wish I had bought the paper piecing pattern because I think I would have been much more successful.
.
I came down with Shingles on my back and side March 3rd, so along with my frustration with that, doctors and all the steps in the pattern, I am sure my patience level was very low - plus I could only work a couple hours a day sewing.  I quickly decided a table runner would be best for me this month instead of a quilt.

I give you my Hook, Line and Sinker...

On Red Bench
 Another kinda closer look ...

On Green Bench
Sure wish these pictures were better - my camera batteries decided to die on me in the middle of our photo shoot.  Well, of course!!!

I used two Moda Road 15 charm packs by Sweetwater and I love the squares with the charming little houses on them. The backing is a Jo Morton fabric from stash, the binding is Riley Blake's Lost and Found and the background is the only color in my stash that truly went with all the charm squares.
I am glad I used a stripe bias binding to brighten up this quilt.

Sure do hope the next selection is a breeze and happens to be a pattern I already have.

May your day be delightfully filled with happiness and lots of fun things.
I know for us it would be better if the sunshine would just stay on ... for awhile!!!

Love that little flower piece - con't know the pattern, but do love it. Your table runner is very sweet and sometimes life tells ya to slow down and make it small. Hope you feel better soon.

Your Hook is beautiful as is the mini.

Those shingles are no fun. My mom and SIL both got them last month. It's been brutal as I am sure you can relate. I hope April is better for you.
