The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

Redwork Rhymes - UFO Challenge

Another great month and a truly fantastic finish...
number 10 on my list for the year.
I feel that this one really would have still been in the tub of unfinished
and unmade projects had it not been for the UFO "Judy" challenge each month.

It all started with 12 finished Redwork blocks -

A lot of cutting, sewing and arranging happened with this quilt -
decisions, decisions... with a little help from the Golden Girls
we decided that white sashing would have taken the emphasis
from the Redwork so a red and white print was used - this may look pink to you -
with 2" pinwheel cornerstones and better up close.
We just could not get a good picture of this quilt...
inside the house wasn't light enough and
outside was overcast and gray looking.
I really do like this quilt.
The blocks up close and personal

A beautiful quilt top, Judy. Your stitching is fabulous! I wonder if most of the small children today even know a nursery rhyme.
