The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

Inside Outside with Table Toppers

A very big thank you and hug to my wonderful blogging angel for my blog resurrection over the weekend and my mental salvation.
DWH and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Roses just for you.

Our  Table Top Stand Blog Hop was inspired by our lovely Mdm Samm of Sew I Quilt.
We have 46 wonderful people who will post
their unique and gorgeous table top creations
on their own little table top stands and wall hangers for your enjoyment and inspiration.
I love reading all your wonderful comments...
please be sure to leave me one and thanks for stopping by.

I decided to spray paint my stand a bronze color to match my accessories...
my Ackfeld wire stand was ordered from
Shell at

I now want the  6" stand in white for my kitchen windowsill ... that will be fun making 6" blocks.
Thanks Jennifer for posting with the 6" stand and inspiring me.
I have found making these little quilts so rewarding and an instant source of gratification.

You are only as small as your imagination... so let it soar.

Today's schedule

Sew I Quilt

DWH and I are driving around the property in the golf cart taking these pictures -
in our yard clothes so you will not get any pictures of us,

we will wait for you should you tire.

My Hospitality Block
This is a Wendy Vosters pattern from her book "Paper-Pieced Mini Quilts"
done in Batiks and on a wall rack with a dowel.
Pineapple Block in the Bridal Veil bush

My pink dogwood is a paper-pieced Eilene Bahring Sullivan pattern.
I  found that if I took the "feet" off my standing rack,  I could hang them in the trees -
creates lots of display opportunities.

Pink Dogwood in White Dogwood Tree

The Navy Star was done for my DWH and a duplicate was sent
to our Navy Commander daughter-in-law in California for her home office.
This is a wonderful way to honor our military ...
surely all branches of the service have a block to represent them by now.

Marty's Navy Star

A Piece 'O Cake Pattern called Lorna's Vine Wheel Block -
I was practicing my applique and I see Mr. Gnome has not a care in the world!!!
The blue shell dish is for M&M's - especially the dark chocolate ones.

Lorna's Vine

Carol Doak Parade of Stars
Paper piecing with Carol Doak designs has been a very rewarding and an adventure for me
 with spectacular results and finishes.

May Flowers was a free block and I used just the center of Carol's design,
done in Andover Dimples with very simplistic quilting lines, see left corner of block.
I have yet to venture into all of my Carol Doak Designs yet.

The little bunny candy dish found while antiquing  - Hi Shell!
The Garden Fairy and Mr. Frog welcome you on your stroll through the garden...
it is after all your journey, so enjoy

Carol Doak's Fun Flowers - don't you love mixing black and white with intense colors?
The Azaleas have been quite spectacular this year.
"and your point is" - a wonderful little saying at my house that I proudly display.

Carol Doak's 3500 Members Celebration Block with
the polka dot binding just added that little extra pop that was needed.
Andover Dimples fabric for this one, I think I have all colors.

Lovers we are... and he always brings me flowers.
East coast bird - unknown species - I liked his colors and he needed a loving home.

This is my WOW block - intense color done in Moda Marbles on black is
Carol Doak's 700 Members Celebration block -

(now a stroll for Shell at Raspberry Rabbits)
we just had to go down the bunny trail where the bunny patiently waits on the bench in the woods    for visitors ...
these adorable little birds showed up one day and just never left the sunroom..

What's this?  my own creation in wool.
I am new at dawdling in the wool bucket,  but I really do try ...
went with what I had on hand and even put red satin piping on it.

This was so much fun to create!!!
disclaimer... no sheep were hurt during this wool creation... trust me...
Ruthie the frog stands guard -  named after my friend in Florida who gave her to us.

Thank you Marlene for inspiring me to use my little rack in the kitchen for tea towels
love, love your idea so had to try it out.
Redwork designs are from Bird Brain Designs and Busy As Can Be
I now have quite a collection of Redwork tea towels.

Hearts and Flowers
Tea Cups Galore

Apple Pie - Oh My!

Can't get this one to line up
and after this weekend with blog troubles
I am not going to try and align.
It is what I call an 'ohwell'.
Crock Pot Gladness

Another Blog Hop Anyone?
How about picnic quilts?  6" stand quilt creationss? original creations? a color challenge?
Seasons of the Soul?  just seasons? Art Quilt Iniative for Alzheimers?
Please let Mdm Samm know your suggestions -
she really knows how to soar.

The Garden Fairy and the Mr. Frog will be waiting for you until next time

so please come back and take another stroll in our garden.

Thank you for stopping by to visit - it is always a pleasure to have you..
be sure to visit all the other blogs for their inspiring and unique creations.

Happy St. George's Day to all you Brits
