The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

February Already - Unbelievable

I picked these from the garden on January 26th - they are so beautiful and a true breath of Spring.
I certainly hope we do not get a February freeze.
This is the February finish for the
Patchwork Times UFO Challenge for 2012
now living in my dear daughter's house.

I added a 1/2 inch flange around the inside border.
Other news and excitements !!!
After Christmas a year ago, my daughter and I came across these tablecloths 80% off
at Target.  At the time, we thought they would make wonderful dish towels.
Last week I took the 60" x 120" red and white cloth
and made a 60" square cloth plus six 18" napkins - final cost about $4.00.
I still have the 60" x 104" red, white and green cloth
to use for dish towels if we want.
I love to look at things for what else they can be used for
and these were certainly a bargain.  Did I tell you I love red and white?

Julie at Shabby Fabrics was having a giveaway in December -
the "Comfort &Joy" book by Brenda Riddle from the Acorn Quilt Company
and I was one of the winners - Yeah!!!
Doesn't this look like a wonderful book -  I can see one of these quilts in my future.

I think I told everyone that my birthday was in January, did I miss you?
I received some very wonderful presents.
I received these rayon Batiks from Gary and Denise in California,
well, mostly Denise since she was the one who was deployed to Indonesia.

Gorgeous Rayon Batiks from Indonesia -  and
all three two-yard lengths have beautiful borders.

I am thinking a wonderful shawl or wrap.  Maybe y'all
will have some other suggestions and then again these just
might be too beautiful to cut into.

Wishing you a joyously delightful journey until next time from Judy C.
