The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

February Already - Unbelievable

I picked these from the garden on January 26th - unbelievable
and I certainly hope we do not get a February freeze.
This is the February finish for the
Patchwork Times UFO Challenge for 2012
now living with my dear daughter..
Sweetheart Vines

Better View
I added a 1/2 inch flange around the inside border.
Other news and excitements !!!
After Christmas a year ago, my daughter and I came across these tablecloths on sale
at Target for 80% off.  We thought they would make wonderful dish towels ...
but last week I took the 60" x 120" red and white cloth I had
and made a 60" square cloth and six 18" napkins - final cost about $4.00.
I still have the 60" x 104" red, white and green cloth
to use for dish towels if we want.
I love to look at things for what else they can be used for
and these were certainly a bargain.  Did I tell you I love red and white?

Tablecloth with 80% off

Julie at Shabby Fabrics was having a giveaway in December -
the "Comfort & Joy" book by Brenda Riddle from the Acorn Quilt Company
and I was one of the winners - Yeah!!!
Doesn't this look like a wonderful book -  I can see one of these quilts in my future.

I think I told everyone that my birthday was in January, did I miss you?
 I received some wonderful presents...
this came from Gary and Denise in California,
well, mostly Denise since she was the one who was deployed to Indonesia.

Gorgeous Rayon Batiks from Indonesia -  and
all three  two-yard lengths have beautiful borders -

I am thinking a wonderful shawl or wrap.  Maybe y'all
will have some other suggestions and then again these just
might be too beautiful to cut into.

Wishing you a joyously delightful journey until next time from Judy C.

What lovely surprises today. I adore daffodils, and am so envious. We have a long way to go before they will bloom here. The fabric is gorgeous, and your Sweetheart Vines so pretty. Congratulations on your win. I think I have covered everything. Happy Day!!! Oh, I forgot about the tableclothes. What a great idea.

Lovely table runner - congratulations on a finished UFO. Nothing flowering here , but I hope not, we truly have not had Winter - I would hate for the fruit trees and flowers to bud and then they get killed off with Father Winter.

Gorgeous daffodils, but way too early!
That is a very fun table runner. Nice job!
Beautiful batiks. Shawls sound good to me! Not much cutting involved. : )

I love your dishcloths from a tablecloth idea. I'll have to try that. Your Sweetheart Vines is lovely. I really like the way you have placed the hearts and cherries. Nice design!

Love those daffodils. So cheery. I've been growing narcissus bulbs in a short vase of water. There blooming now, but yesterday they fell over! I'm not sure what to do about it. I've got them leaning and propped up right now. lol

Take care,
Susan in Texas

I love daffodils! They are my favorite flower! The Relay For Life committee at school sells them as a fund raiser in March. However, they are not as beautiful as yours.

Great idea for the table cloth.

Judy, I love your daffodils! We just had several bloom out in our backyard. So sweet and sunny! So let me see if I understand you correctly -- you cut down tablecloths for tea towels?! So clever and smart! And yes, the Comfort and Joy book looks like LOTS of fun!! :)
