The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

December UFO for Patchwork Times

I completed all 12 projects for 2011
and one extra.
This is my December quilt - remember that I consider them
complete once I finish the piecing since I do not do the quilting.
They now go on the long-arm quilter's list ... Hee, hee, hee

This was a really good swap hosted by Jane Remus in 2009.
I thought it was time to complete it - thanks Jane for having the swap - I love it.
She is having a sale in her Etsy Store this week.

I had originally included another small project on my list,
after much deliberation I determined I really was no longer in love with it
and did not want to use my time making something I did not like.
Off it goes and will be given to a home that loves it.

I had a couple of stitcheries that were completed,
and were given away before pictures were taken.
Just hate it when I do that!!!

Logan James, GGS #1 has a new bedroom
this year since he now has a big boy bed -
BATMAN everything.
Since Nana made the curtains for his room
we also had to get some BATMAN pillowcases put together for him.
He will love these

If you want to see my 2011 year of completions,
please use this link for my December, 2010 list.
 that also includes the completions.

This is the link for 2012 year's list of projects I plan to complete.
They are a little less UFO and more of entire quilts to be made,
but I want to make these and have the materials so thought I should include them on my lsit.
Just for your enjoyment ...
This is our winter camelia and all the blooms
on the bush are about to burst open.
Does this look real to you?  I just love the
pure white of this bloom.

Could not resist posting this picture of
pouty boy grand-dog Chester, who spent a week with us at Christmas -thought I would post his picture so Logan James can see Chester pouting.
He is laying on his duck because we were tired of throwing it for him.

Wishing you happiness and new discoveries on your journey this new year
and I certainly hope it will be delightful.
It is, afterall, yours to create.

Wow!! I love what you did with your red and aqua. I love my quilt and use it all the time. Chester, we have a bully too, named Sophie!
She likes to sit right by Little T when he is eating at the table, Hmm, wonder why!!

That camellia is incredible - it is well below zero tonight here in the Northwoods - so I will gaze upon this bloom and dream...

Know you will enjoy Downton Abbey 2nd season. I was immediately attached to each of the characters as they reflect a lifestyle long gone...the settings are gorgeous and the costumes are breathtaking!!
(Try to find the PBS DVD from the 1st season)

I love your quilt created from the swap. That black and white stripe is an all time favorite and really compliments well with your blocks. Congrats on all your year's accomplishments.

Nope, that flower looks fake! It is soooo beautiful, does it have a fragrance? It would seem that something that beautiful would smell equally lovely. The pouty puppy is cute. The blue/red/white quilt is fabulous!! Just finished a quilt like that for someone else, and the colors!! WOW!! I would have never put them together! Batman must be fun to work with...hugs!

Your last quilt is stunning! I love the way it is so structured but so scrappy - the best of both worlds!
