The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

Presents Were Received and Loved

This was the year DWH made oak nesting lap trays for all six adult children and their spouses.
  They were a very big hit - they were gorgeous so what's not to love,
all arrived safely and in one piece.
(Remember when DWH cut his finder and went to the ER before Thanksgiving - that was
from cutting the cardboard to wrap around the trays for shipping.)

Here you see four sets stacked up and others sitting on the table.
He lined all the bottoms with cork and
we recommended they get a nice placemat to use over the cork.
We have a set and use a pretty plastic placemat
that can be cut to size.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Golden Girls sewing group were also fortunate
to get in on the trays - they were dowright tickled
with their presents this year I do believe.
I made each of the four Golden Girls a Redwork container for
their sewing room.  The stitchery is
"In my heart there lives a joyful song...
the road to a friend's house is never too long."
I also put pockets inside to hold treasures.
Two of the ladies are not married and we are optimistic here, so they each got two trays.
Wonder what DWH will come up with next year.
Whatever it is, I certainly hope it will be smaller as the
shipping was very expensive this year,
and we all know that will only increase again.
I wonder how they feel about pens or coasters?
Hope your journey was peaceful and happy this year
and wishing you a joyous New Year
full of new adventure.
Such beautiful wood trays and redwork...know all the recipients will treasure these.
(P.S. - one of my favorite gifts was a lovely fabric covered journal made by a dear friend and tucked inside the wrapping ribbon was a wood pen turned by her talented husband...)
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year!!
What wonderful gifts!!! The best gifts are handmade from the heart, aren't they? The trays are just incredible, but I love those redwork "buckets". So sweet. Thanks for sharing.
