The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

May News and Blues

Patchwork Times UFO Finish #9 for the Month of May - Oh, my - THE BLUES- the quilt is still at the quilter's and should be back next week, however, I am going to post this picture,  it is just the 3B's missing - (batting, backing, binding)  from this picture but it is done - just not at my house yet.

This is Carolyn's Schnibbles - Carolyn was a prolific quilter who lived in the Raleigh area and when she passed away after a very short illness, there was no one to give her stash and quilting tools to -  so everything was sold and the money donated to her church. You would not believe how many kits she had and how much stash she owned - some of the kits were even half completed., and this was one of them. The blocks were from a Saturday Sampler BOM through a local quilt shop and all the patterns and fabric were together. I bought several kits and have been completing them in Carolyn's memory - and donating the quilts to charities at our guild. I will post full quilt picture when received.

Carolyn's Quilt is now all complete - binding on.

Next is a picture of a column quilt-as-you-go that I recently completed from a class.
A very good thing about this quilt is you have a completed quilt when finish the class and just need to add the binding.
Sorry about the shade - I was going to retake the picture and the camera broke.
Plan to get that fixed immediately.
Cannot forget to mention the "call out" from Carol at Brown Quilts 4 Me
 http://brownquilts4me.blogspot.com/
for some patriotic pillowcases -
I call this "Operation Jami" and so far Carol has received over 100 cases
for Jami to present to the service men and women.

I have sent these seven pillowcases and working on more ... be sure to check out Carol's original post, especially if interested in helping make pillowcases.

That is all from me - I will re-post picture when May quilt is received.

Safe journey - where ever you may venture this summer - Judy C sends her best
