The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

Oh My - what to do?

I must have been lost - out of touch -  we have just been going full throttle.
Recently DWH and I tried setting some goals for packing, sorting and generally getting things done in preparation for our move.

Life happens - all it took was one phone call from my very dear friend, Beverly, saying she and her mom and Tommy were going to stop by for a visit on their way on vacation  to South Carolina.
All of our goals became deadlines.

We love visiting with these dear friends and do not see them often - but I could not possibly have let them into our house with the chaos that reigns here right now.
They promptly made a motel reservation, which helped a lot, as the guest bedrooms have stacks of tubs with my sewing paraphernalia - you know, in case I need something.
We cleaned, packed up the accumulations that were created from sorting and organizing, and I finished two quilts that were for Beverly's birthday next month - a sofa throw and a table topper.
The ones I sent her last year were stolen through the mail system, so I was for sure not going to try mailing again and needed for her to take them with her.
She did give us ten days advance notice and the sofa quilt had just come back from the quilter, so just needed to have binding.
Beverly was so surprised and pleased with them and they are going home in the car with her.

Beverly's mother, Granny Almond, came with them and I was able to finish up a tote for her to take to the little farmer's market she likes to visit.

Tommy got a Mug Rug for the table next to his TV recliner, but I did not get a picture. We had a wonderful dinner for them and the Impossible Coconut pie for dessert was a real hit.  We made this pie since DWH and I would have help eating it. We have been known to eat the whole thing.

Long story short - we have been very busy and visiting with our friends was so wonderful, the pause was very needed.  I did not think that our goals would end up as deadlines, but it happens.

I really do feel that I have a breathing spell right now with nothing on the horizon except getting the signs made up and putting the house on the market. Maybe it was our goal of having all this done by May 21st that created the deadline with our friends arrival. Now, am I behind or ahead at this stage? I think I will go make some pillowcases and get those OTL.

Hope your journey is full of wonderful twists and turns - Judy C sends her best

Judy - you are definitely ahead of schedule!!! If you run out of things to do (VBG) you could always come up to Wisconsin and help someone get ON to some sort of schedule!!

Happy that you had a chance to visit with people who are so special to you and how amazing that you could present them with such treasures!
You are remarkable!
