The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

Criss Cross Applesauce ....

Thought I would show you my Criss Cross Applesauce quilt from Bonnie Hunter's pattern in her latest book Scraps and Shirttails II.
I just love how it turned out and I am planning on piecing the backing with ten-inch squares of different fabrics.
Keeping it all scrappy and lively.
Ended up putting 100 blocks in this quilt, 76" square, and a really nice size.

The above picture was taken on the bed and then we decided you really could not see the colors well...

so we took it outside... not sure if that is better or not but the colors do look truer. I will work on the backing this weekend, and then off to Joanne to work her wonderful quilting magic.

What else has been going on ... well,  I certainly have not gotten very far with the labels. Remember this stack of quilts - they are still a stack of quilts needing labels. I was thinking about feeling guilty, but gave up on that awful notion.

If all goes according to my plan, I will be working on them tomorrow. Monday is the Golden Girls Gathering and I really do have to get them off the table by then. Now that DWH is retired, my plans sometimes get side tracked and we seem to be doing it a lot lately. It is so easy to procrastinate. Now you know why I do the labels when I put the binding on.

Just thought I would leave you with some pictures of bunnies I put out for Easter. The eggs are marble so we do not hide them for the great grands. We would have real eggs if they were going to be here that weekend.

Wow - bunny has been real busy -  No wonder he is sleeping!!!

Hope you have been busy doing all things enjoyable.

Happiness along your adventure but remember it is the journey that counts. Judy C

No guilt now, promise? You have accomplished so much and look at that table center piece...ready for Easter and full of Spring! I really like how your quilt turned out - so happy looking and the idea of 10" squares for the backing is super.

Oh - guess what? We actually have daffodils poking up through the disappearing snow cover...we might just make it!!
