The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface - So it is that we develop - But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work. For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece.

The Party's Over ... and I survived

Everyone has gone home ... it is quiet again ... are you like me and love the quiet for the first hour - and then start missing everyone and feeling lonely?  I really do need a nap.

Just a few pictures. There must be cake and the cake should be Chocolate Fudge Truffle (raspberry filling) - my favorite. My granddaughter made the really cute decorated cup cakes, just in case some did not like my cake. The cakes did not disappoint any of us and DWH and I had the last piece tonight.

There can be presents ... and this year everyone gave me Pandora charms for the bracelet/necklace my DWH bought me.  We only asked that the charm be representative of them or their family and there were no two alike.  So many little boxes of charms and I can make the bracelet into a necklace as seen here, eventhough I do have it a little lopsided but more clips will will keep everything in place.

I think the kids had as much fun picking out the charms as I did opening all the little boxes and diciphering the meaning of what they had selected. Everyone became Pandora educated and I see charms in my future.  Husband and I are not easy to buy for at our age, so maybe this will help them out.  Wink, wink!!  DWH needs to come up with an "I don't need anything" on-going gift they can add to for him.
I need to get back to my sewing room and start assessing, adapting and overcoming all the chaos that lives there. I did not sign up for any BOM's this year, as I am still three months behind on my Civil War Tribute BOM from 2010... yet another unfinished quilt. Time to start organizing the sewing room and do some partial packing. I really do need to move some of it into the "you are finally going to live with someone else" pile.  Happiness on your January journey. Judy C

Great to see your new posting this morning...enjoying catching up with all your doings as I have my coffee.
That cake looks like a Food Network creation...gorgeous! And lucky you adding Pandora charms...how wonderful to wear something that is so meaningful & representative of your family.
Have fun in your sewing room - it offers comfort and therapy when your heart is missing the kids...I know what you mean!!
Wishing you a happy and productive weekend.
