The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

The First Eleven Days - Snowy to Sunny to Gray

The Christmas snow was so beautiful and snow always makes the world seem a little kinder and everything slows down - there is the quiet you can hear when you listen to the snow flakes falling.  Being inside for me feels so much more cuddly and calmer as I watch everything become softer within the "snow light."  Loved Christmas, 2010.

New Year's day we were all playing outside with the great grands in 60 degree weather.  I had forgotten all the things a two-year-old little boy can find fascinating in the woods, while the five-year-old girls were content to "dig up" acorns.  Fun for everyone and a break in the cooking as it was too nice to be inside watching football games.

Today we have sleet, a little snow and freezing rain and everything is just plan gray and drab. Told DWH I like to either cook, sew, or shop on days like this so yesterday we did the shop and cook (soup) things and today I will sew in "my room". With all the organizing we have been doing and the company we have had there has not been a lot of time to just be in my room. Need to get my UFO selection from Patchwork Times further along than what you see in the picture.  I recently saw a saying that I really like - "There is nothing more enjoyable than the journey of making a quilt," and I really like my journey at this moment in time. Especially on a gray day.

Friday, will bring the Colorado kids to our doorstep for my birthday celebration and the NC kids will be here on Saturday. All I wished for on my birthday was for them to be here, and they are adding charms respresentative of them or family for the braclet DWH bought to commerate this big birthday.

Happiness on your journey and I will post more pictures after the weekend.  Judy C

Uh Oh...a Big Birthday? And Family is on the way?? What fun - enjoy every moment and we will try to keep the winter weather up here so it doesn't interfere with travel plans. We have a nice snowfall right now & like you I am content to be in the sewing room looking out on a quiet world. Our guild meeting tonight? Not leaving my fireside chair...
