The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

Little Presents

Each Christmas season my sewing group, Golden Girls gather for a luncheon out with dessert at one of the member's houses where we exchange gifts.  I made little notebooks from Kaffe Fassett fabrics (I love those) for them this year.  So lively and such fun and you can use the junior legal pad for refills and the buttons were a real joy to find.

DWH also made a wooden gift for them for the ladies and the children.  Heavens forbid they have a surprise!!! Now that they are grown and living on their own, they open all boxes upon receipt.  If you ask them, they will deny it!!!

These were patterned after the antique lap writing desks. We call them message centers because they are smaller and hold tablets and pencils by the phone.

I will keep this post short - and close with a picture of "Sweet Ruthie" the frog who lives under our bench on the front porch.  A very dear friend and charter Golden Girl gave me Ruthie when she moved to New York.  I just love her to pieces.  She has a little snow on her this week and keeps sentinel in all kinds of weather.

Wishing you contentment and joy on your journey through this season
from Judy and Marty C

Those gifts are just so happy looking - bet your sewing buddies really like them!
My little sewing group decided to wait until January to exchange gifts - everyone heaved a collective sigh!
For some reason this year, all of us were in some sort of a tizzy...
You are so organized - would you share your secret!!??
