The Masterpiece by Javan

The Masterpiece by Javan

We are born into the world like a blank canvas and each person that crosses our path takes up the brush and makes his mark upon our surface

So it is that we develop

But we must realize there comes a day that we must take up the brush and finish the work

For only we can determine if we are to be just another painting or a Masterpiece. Javan

More of the Story and Walls That Talk

Paperpieced Pineapple Welcome
Several asked about my sewing room and so thought I would put up some more pictures.
My room is 15' x 24' - I admit that I purposedly took these pictures when it was clean - the day my Golden Girls group were going to be there - this is not normally how my room looks.
I sew like I cook - pretty messy.
I always clean up my sewing room between projects and my DWH always cleans up the kitchen between meals.  Simple - I cook, he cleans - I put it in the vows!!! lol

Shelf Tub Storage

Wall of Shelves

I tried everything when I first started transferring my embroidery designs. Thank heavens DWH stepped up with a plan that sure made my life easier.  Now I do not know how I got along without the light box cabinet he made for me.  It is a beauty and of course it had to have it's own little quilt to keep the glass from getting scratched.

Light Table DWH Made

Two 6-foot tables in the center of my room for the ladies to sew on.
This is where all the laughter and stories happen.
In the background are two height-adjustable 4-foot tables with 36" cutting mats so more than one can cut at a time.
We only have one ironing station because we kept tripping the circuit breakers and that is behind my sewing chair. We just had to learn to take turns.

My Favorite
Walls to inspire you.
I have wall space that isn't much use for anything but small miniature quilts, quilting signs and my framed embroidery because of the slanted roof line.  Mr. Monkey is a favorite overseer of the fun.

Bargello Flag

Therapy In Session

Isn't that the truth?  My quilting is my neutralizer between things I have absolutely no control over and gives me the ability to create and dream anything I want in my room.

Thanks for Dropping By!!!

Another wonderful fun-filled post - more drooling over your sewing area (I have to wear a bib when I visit your blog - that is all there is to it!)What a great piece of stitchery about a pucker too. Aren't light boxes just the thing? I use mine so much too.
Thank you for sharing your creative space...this winter my room needs more organizing and shelving!
Wish I could just add a new wing...

What a gorgeous sewing room you have! I don't think I'd ever come out of there (except to buy fabric LOL)! Love the "pucker" sign, too! Thanks so much for sharing!
